Safety

Care begins with what feels safe.

The workbook is designed for consensual relationship reflection. It is not the right tool for every situation.

Purpose and limits

The House We Make is educational and reflective material for consensual relationship use. It is not therapy, mental health treatment, medical advice, legal advice, crisis support, or abuse intervention. It cannot assess danger or replace support from a qualified professional.

When joint exercises are not appropriate

If coercion, threats, stalking, intimidation, or violence are present, prioritize individual safety and specialized support over joint exercises. A person causing harm may use shared exercises, disclosures, or written responses to increase control or retaliation.

Consider using a safer device and private way to seek help if your communications or browsing may be monitored. Use only options that feel safe in your circumstances.

Consent throughout the workbook

Each person may pause, skip a prompt, decline to share an answer, or stop a conversation. Completing an exercise is never more important than consent, privacy, or physical and emotional safety.

Urgent situations

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service where it is safe to do so. For concerns involving abuse, stalking, or coercive control, seek individual guidance from a specialized support service rather than using the workbook together.

Product questions

The contact page is for orders, downloads, accessibility feedback, and other product questions. It is not monitored as a crisis line and cannot provide individualized safety planning.
